When Seconds Count
In an emergency, help can be minutes away. What you do in the first few seconds depends on how you were trained, and that idea is behind every class we teach.
We teach law-abiding New Yorkers to handle firearms safely, stay aware of their surroundings and make sound decisions under pressure. We also build training for businesses, security companies and houses of worship that want their people prepared.

How we train
The same four principles apply whether you’re a first-time student or an organization training its whole staff.
Safety first
Every course starts with safe handling and the law. Live fire happens only under a certified instructor’s supervision.
Field experience
Our instructors come from law enforcement and civilian training, and they teach from experience in the field.
Tailored to you
Small classes let us coach a beginner differently from an experienced owner. Programs for organizations are planned around your site and staff.
Community focus
We’re based in Mount Vernon and train people from across Westchester, the Bronx and New York City. Students can call us after the course.

ROB FELDER
Founder & Lead Instructor
Rob Felder founded WSC Defense on the belief that preparedness is more than completing a course or meeting a minimum standard. It is having the awareness to recognize what is happening, the composure to think clearly and the ability to respond effectively under extreme pressure.
His approach is patient, direct and professional, giving people the opportunity to fully understand what they are learning while maintaining the high standards real-world situations demand. Through WSC Defense, Rob prepares individuals, security professionals and organizations to remain calm, act with purpose and make sound decisions when seconds count.
